Hailing from Chicago, Il singer-song writer/producer and musician Justin D. Marnez has preformed before he understood the meaning of the word. Early on Marnez learned to play the bass, piano, drums, and other instruments; a skill he believes is transitory within the music world. With six siblings, Justin was raised in a home where music was played regularly. Trailing his father to various studios around the city, he was exposed to countless musicians, and different genres of music. Over time he learned to use beat machines and other studio equipment. In this space his talent for artistic expression was realized. Justin also expresses himself through photography; his work has been exhibited in galleries and art shows throughout His mantra? “Don’t strive to be different, strive to be yourself, then you’ll enter the realm of uniqueness.”
Marnez can be described as a modern day Dr. Seuss with a vast imagination for art that you can see vividly in his music. It is wihtin that realm of creativity that Justin found the blueprint for musical success. His musical inspirations include his father, Prince, Michael Jackson, Jimmy Hendrix, Dan Black, and Coheed and Cambria. On Justin’s latest single "yes men cry" the essence of all his inspirations are present. He strives to connect with his listeners first by capturing their ears, then their hearts. It is his vision that listeners can experience the emotions that he admits through his music and use them to obtain clarity, wholeness, and vision within their own lives.
Justin’s humbleness, work ethic, authenticity, and talent make him one of music’s current standouts.
